Die Datengrundlage des gedruckten Kartenblattes und den daraus abgeleiteten Kartendienst, basiert auf einer umfassenden Basisdatenerhebung im Rahmen der gesetzlich verankerten geologischen Landesaufnahme, welche eine umfangreiche Literaturrecherche, die Geländekartierung, sowie die Probenahme mit wissenschaftlichen Analysen und Messungen beinhaltet.
Genauigkeit
Geologische Karten und die davon abgeleiteten Daten sind ein bestmögliches Abbild der oberflächennahen Geologie und widerspiegeln Wissen und Aktualität zum Zeitpunkt der Herausgabe. Durch Interpretation, Generalisierung, Verdrängung und kartographische Retusche können Objekte zusammengefasst (repräsentative Objekte) oder auch in ihrer ursprünglichen Lage verschoben sein. Die Datensätze haben generell beschreibenden Charakter. Datenstruktur, Symbolisierung und Modellierung der geologischen Inhalte reflektieren die kartographischen Gegebenheiten der publizierten Karte. Bei Verwendung der geologischen Daten gilt es diese Gesichtspunkte zu berücksichtigen und die Daten mit dem nötigen geologischen Verständnis zu verwenden.
Die Vektordaten sind für den Maßstab 1:200.000 konzipiert und auf den Grundlagen der digitalen amtlichen Topographie ÖK200 (Stand 2006) erstellt worden. Um eine optimale Übereinstimmung zwischen Geologie und Topographie zu erzielen, empfehlen wir die im Impressum der gedruckten Karte angeführte Grundlage (Rasterdatenversion) zu verwenden.</statement>
